Round 2 - The wind dropped a little but not before it had completely dried out the greens, leaving them ultra-quick, so great care had to be taken with the putter. Hans Kunok improved on his opening round by scoring a 69, while Bob Fletcher's unexpected 66 saw him progress up the leaderboard, and these two still have a chance of a top 10 finish. Mel Tyke had a rare off-day, every hole proving a struggle due to swing tempo problems, and a 71 was not what he was looking for. Randy Grant managed a 69 which included an eagle on the par 5 10th, and he looks in good shape for the weekend. 'Newbie' Norm Ricker again played very well and his 64 was the equal best round of the day, placing him just two shots off the pace. Les Souter retained his opening day lead when he also posted a super 64, helped by an ACE on the 2nd, which Les then followed with a bogey on the 3rd, his only dropped shot of the round. It still looks promising for the guests but the weather forecast for the weekend is not good, so anything can still happen...

Round 4 - Well, what a final day this turned out to be!! The wind had dropped slightly but was still blowing hard, the greens were fast, the pins maybe not quite so easy, and the scene was set. Hans Kunok completed a miserable week with a 74, while Ian McKinley's fine closing 66 helped him achieve a respectable position. Bob Fletcher's putting let him down but he still carded a 69 to grab 8th place and some Charles Schwab Cup points. Debutant Norm Ricker posted a 67 to claim 6th spot and, judging from his performance this week, he will be a leading light for the remainder of the season. One shot ahead of Norm, in 5th place, was Mel Tyke whose 66 ensured his record of having finished in the top 10 in every event so far continued. Randy Grant was a bit of a surprise package this week and his 65, the equal best of the day and his fourth sub-70 round of the tourney, handed him a well-deserved 3rd spot. But the real drama was yet to come. Les Souter had led from Day 1 and took a 2-shot lead into the final day. Tour pro Olin Browne was his nearest rival and when Browne walked off with a 65 Les needed to birdie the last three holes to tie - which he did to force a play-off!! The starting hole was selected at random and it was the 6th. Browne's approach left him a very makeable uphill birdie putt, but Les's approach came up just short of the green. His subsequent chip flew past the flag to leave a tricky downhill par putt - which he missed. Browne stepped up and rolled his ball into the cup to steal the title!! Here is his winning putt...

Wow Bob, what a finale’ 🤔🫣😱🥳 I didn’t know you have a play off….just like the real thing👍🏌️♂️ How do you do that? WGT games could be watched in”Twitch” but I don’t think any of us would want to face Les’s play off under the spotlight with “cameras” present🤯😩 Great end to a challenging week. Such a shame as Les played so well all week, for the pro to win. Well done Randy, a great week also……”H/C cut may be on the way for you though?🥴 PS I have started a new thread “Happy Christmas “ where I have posted a link to a “Jacquie Lawson” E-Card. I hope it works for you all, Cheers Mel

Well Mel, I had to be inventive as far as the play-off was concerned. I set up a 'local round' with Round 4 conditions with me and Les's Round 4 ghost. For Olin Browne I used another ghost, one that had shot a 65 (same as Olin) with the same tees and the same pin (pin 4).
Started from Hole 1 but I had already asked Ian to select a starting hole at random for the play-off - he chose Hole 6 which, unfortunately for Les, was his only bogey hole!! I thought Les might still have been in with a chance because over the first 5 holes Olin's ghost hadn't birdied anything and his putting looked dodgy, but he nailed that birdie on the 6th!!
Just for a fitting end to the tourney I took a screenshot of the winning putt. The spectators had lost interest and already left it seems hehe...

This is now 2 events i have either lost the win or moved right down the leaderboard thru invented scores, and never in my 55 years of playing golf have i ever known a playoff be decided on hole 6, unless the playoff went to 6 holes, never started on hole 6 its always either 1 or 18, I'm now at the conclusion under these rules i will never win an event as i probably played my best golf in the two events, i cannot play any better. I see no reason for me too continue in this tour under these rules.

Les, Les, Les!! From what I've just read, play-offs can be either sudden death or played over 3 or 4 holes and then sudden death after that if there is no outright winner. They don't always start on the 1st or the 18th either. If there'd been a play-off in the 2022 PGA Championship it would have been played over the 13th, 17th and 18th holes - and then sudden death if necessary. At the Masters I believe they use the 10th and 18th holes only.
Maybe I got it wrong by asking someone to choose a starting hole for the sudden death playoff. Maybe you're right to claim beginning on the 6th hole was unrealistic. It was certainly unlucky that it happened to be the worst hole in your round.
So I'm going to make a rule about ALL future play-offs on this tour. They will consist of 3 holes, and they will be the 8th, 9th and 10th. If scores are still level after those 3 holes then sudden death comes into play from the 11th hole onwards. IF THE PLAY-OFF INVOLVES GUESTS ONLY, THEY WILL BE ASKED TO SET UP AN ONLINE PLAY-OFF USING ROUND 4 CONDITIONS. If that is not possible for any reason, the title will be shared.
I hope you continue to play this tour Les, and I'm sorry you didn't win last week, but your time will come without doubt. At the end of the day this is A GAME, not the real thing, but I invite anyone's thoughts on the matter...

Bob why don't we do that now - after all this is not a convectional tournament its online golf - we can change anytime - so redo the playoff from say hole 1 - and as far as picking a hole Les if you want to know it was me - I put 1 - to 18 in a hat a drew the hole. I have even done this in the past in real golf and I have played as you for 55 years - so don't blame Bob or the tour I did that. Here a quote from the PGA Which holes are used? The PGA of America makes that call, and it might differ from year to year depending on the layout of the golf course. The tournament wants three holes that are easy for everyone (players, officials, on-site fans) to get to, and to move around on.

I understand - when I looked last night for Bob I read the quote that I stated - I understand what they have done in the past - and they have started on hole 17 before as you know - I just did not want you to blame Bob or the tour - I have no issue standing in front of the bullet. And as you know I have been club captain before and we have drawn from the hat because we did not have large crowds to please. If you like I can send you the air fare and you can come over and kick my ass - because there is not much left to beat on And you are correct we are trying our best to please everyone and follow as close as we can - I have never been afraid to admit a mistake - because you know what if you never make a decision you will never make a mistake and guess what I have made a ton. I looked it up before I did it and this is what caught my eye "Which holes are used? The PGA of America makes that call, and it might differ from year to year depending on the layout of the golf course." Is our handicap correct - answer NO - not according to PGA Is our course set up correct - answer NO - not according to tour Is our course Par correct - answer NO - not according to past tour We do what we can too make it the best we can. so short answer im sorry if you got screwed on this one BUT do not blame Bob or the Tour.

Hi Fellas, For the purpose of trying to play a 3 round tournament , injecting a random score could be better. I don't have any ideas but, we can change anytime being a golf sim. I presided over the JN6 World Tour for over 10 years and believe me, mistakes will be made. It IS quite a feat trying to please the guys and dolls. My belief was "it couldn't be done" lol!!!! My biggest mistake during my reign as president was to let Bob win and win and win ............. Man he was hard to beat if at all !!! Just raggin, Bob hehehe!!!!!!!! An ole to the good old days hey mate Seriously though, it's a golf sim, let's play some golf randy aka "ken"

Ian, last week's tournament is done and dusted, I'm not going to revisit it and 're-format' that play-off, then change the final leaderboard, etc, it all takes time and I spend more than enough of it running this thing as it is.
But future play-offs, as I've stated, will be different.

OK I am cool - just trying to explain what happened is all - I did what you said picked a hole and never look at the card - I am good with closing the door as well - just hate seeing people quit over my mistake is all. when you get time show me the Xmas thing you have planed and I will build a banner
