Great win Bob. Well played Tough to get a win here though! All good fun Mel I like your avatar Yes, it is hard to get a win once the handicaps kick in, and that is why we will review every so often but - when you look at it tho, is there any other way to do it - let's take even my scores of 69,65,60,62 that's 256 A bit unrealistic against pro final of 270 - that would be a 14-stroke win. - Thats not fun either. So, we are using 11 of 12 throwing out highest score of the 12. How I look at it is this way, I finished 276 against 270 - I look back on my rounds and say where did I leave 6 strokes, and I can almost picture them. I don't look at did Bob win or Les or Mel, I look at how well did I do against the top pros. After all there is no car for the winner. The concept is really hard for some to accept, but you have to admit it's fun, it will grow on you - if you look at some of the other societies, if you miss one bird or get one bogy you might as well quit, here you have a chance to the end. Just my 2 cents. Ian

Thanks Mel, the win was, without doubt, down to my improved putting. In every round I putted unusually well, mainly to save pars but also to grab the occasional birdie!! My approach play still leaves a lot to be desired, although I did get lucky a couple of times - but wouldn't it be boring if all aspects of your game were top level most of the time?!!
This week my handicap will make it more difficult for me, but that's only fair - it'll just be a harder challenge, and that's half the fun in my opinion...
