ROUND 1I left my putting game in the locker room for this round. It took a perfectly played 18th hole to claw back to level par, but my best birdie (and there weren't many!) came on the monster par 3 13th - very satisfying and unexpected!! I'm one stroke behind Ian and it could be another close one...

A couple foul shots and a water ball on #2 didn't help but I happy with the outcome.

ROUND 2Made a mess of #1, but then proceeded to chip in on #2, and a pinpoint approach to #3 produced another bird. Another one on #5 and I was looking ok at the turn. Then it all went wrong. Approaches were poor, but not as poor as my putting. A triple on #12 just about summed it up. Only at half way but Ian has a healthy lead and if I don't get my act together he's gonna have a runaway win...

ROUND 3All went well on the front, bagging 3 birdies and looking to at least equal Ian's very good round. Then 2 bogeys early on the back knocked the wind out of my sails and I could only respond with 1 more bird. Disappointing but it was another enjoyable fight. Ian is now 9 ahead of me and only a catastrophe of Greg Norman-esque proportions can open the door for me now...

My best round of the week. No bogeys and outscored Ian for a change. A very good challenging course this week, but I was too inconsistent to be in contention. Well played Ian - hope you get those Wellington boots off ok...
