Round 1 - Nothing too crazy out there today. our enemy is wind and all the undulations as with any links style course! I felt like I played worse than my score ended up to be so I'm satisfied!

ROUND 1My putting is going to have to be a lot better than it was today if I'm going to compete this week. It briefly came alive towards the end of the round but generally it just was not good enough!!

Round 2 - ouch! tough day, battled hard but I think the course won today. I struggle on very fast greens, my issue is mainly putting uphill - my biggest gripe (and feel free to explain this) is why does a very fast green slow the ball down faster when going uphill when compared to a fast or moderate green?? the slope does not change, I feel like their algorithm increases the effects of slope rather than the resistance of the green surface... I feel like a 10ft putt on a moderate green uphill 3 inches requires a 15ft putt but on a very fast green requires a 20ft putt. I don't know maybe I just struggle with dialing in my backswing/power.

ROUND 2Looking at the other scores I am delighted with my effort today. Yes, it was very tough and great care had to be taken - especially on downhill putts!! I think I had a narrow points win and hope I've gained some ground on the rest of the field...

Ian's the technical expert around here Jared, I'm sure he will have some input to your quandary!! Personally, I used to hate Very Fast greens - but I think I've learned how to handle them, although the downhill ones still have my knees knocking together and my sphincter twitching LMAO. I think it's just a learning curve - you will know what to do with a certain type of putt through experience and practice. I'm not sure if there is a magic formula you can use - I don't have one for sure, I just try to 'feel' the putt. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't!

ROUND 3No dropped shots, which is always pleasing. My putting was a little shaky early on but when I finally started getting my yardages right my putting also clicked into gear. Missed a few but was happy with the momentum I found on the back nine. Round 4 should be a blast...
