We're in the Emerald Isle this week and the wonderful Portmarnock course. The second of 3 consecutive ROLEX events so another chance to boost your earnings. Good luck!!

ROUND 1I really should play our tour courses before the actual event! Two dropped shots on the front from a poor putt and then a tempo issue had me thinking this would be a poor round. But I burst into life on the back, only to drop another shot on the 18th through another poor putt. Not a bad start though - and putting should be interesting when the greens dry out...

Round 1 - started out hot then the golf gods put me back in place after 4 holes, thought I'd bounce back and make it up but ended the front 9 pretty dull. after getting the birdie on 11 I thought I was back on track... well that par 3 12 had different plans, I believe I was short off the tee box and my chip ran past the hole and never stopped (didn't see the green falls completely off into a ditch). after that double I just played it safe and took what was given to me, I didn't want to hurt myself more and just wanted to learn the rest of the course.
Round 2 - pretty lackluster performance. the wind and faster greens caused some issues (mostly faster greens). I found the greens to be much more undulating than I thought from round 1. my double was caused by a poor tee shot going into a little strip of hidden water. I was pretty disappointed with my round until I saw 2-3 other people completed round 2 with no scores under par. I hope the pros have as much trouble with round 2 as us!

ROUND 2Had a great start when a swing tempo issue sent my approach into the water. Looked like I was going to card a double but fortunately I holed a flop for a bogey-save!! I was pretty solid after that, but needed a chip-in on #8 to save par. I was 'zoned in' in the middle of the back nine, but still had to make a couple of fighting pars. Very happy with the outcome - I'm almost getting to like very fast greens hehe...

round 3 - what a disaster of a round.. I could not do anything right.. try to hit a fairway - oh look a mound, rocket my ball 90 degrees into the heavy rough... try to hit a green - golf gods actively blowing out candles, oh and by the way the green is elevated and turtle backed, bye bye ball... wont even get into putting lol. just better to move on and finish strong for my own sake, better days will come!

ROUND 4This went a lot better than expected. My game was good, apart from one blip when I lipped out a 7-footer for par on #16. Good course, just hope my form continues for a couple of weeks...
