Agreed, it was worth a read. You can find cheating at every level of golf. Myself and 3 friends used to play a local pitch & putt course on a Sunday afternoon and one chap, who shall remain nameless (not that you'd have ever heard of him anyway!) and who was the worst of the lot of us (we were all hackers lol) usually caused a few raised eyebrows during the round. One of us would keep everyone's score, usually me, and after each hole I asked everyone what they scored. Myself and another of us often looked quizically at each other when Player X (as we shall call him) when he stated what his score was. He wopuld say '5' when we both knew it was at least a 6 LOL. We didn't really mind because he never won anyway - but why not tell us the real score?! We were all good friends anyway and we never played for money - we had a good laugh and it was a way of shaking off the hangover from Saturday night's drinking session!!
You could say that the only person you're cheating by declaring a false score is yourself - but that isn't true at semi-pro and pro levels because you're almost certainly gaining at someone else's expense, if you don't get caught out that is!
