Round 1 Pleased with score today especially with my putting being dodgy again, every putt seemed to be a left to right swinger for me and missed a couple of 8 footers for birds. Ian is correct course was gettable but i didn't quite get it lmao. Pleased with the clean card though.

Round 1Last night I was on the verge of doing something I very rarely do - withdrawing from a tournament. I was plagued by timing issues and just couldn't get anything right, but I called it a night after #9 and decided to play the back today. As the song goes "What a difference a day makes, 24 little hours" LOL. I had a couple of bad swing timings but saved par after both. Got it back to level par, net 70, and I'm very happy with that - now I hope I can do the course justice over the next three rounds...

Round 2 Started off steady but got into a par rut for 9 holes managed to bird 17 but misjudged approach on 18 and left a humongus putt which i 3 stabbed, which ruined my clean card as well. Putting not my best today. Onwards. PS There is no doubt in my mind the sadist will have 187 somewhere in the mix Ian.

Round 2A neater card than Round 1 but the same level par outcome. I played a lot better but got caught out on #8 by a Very Fast that cost me 2 strokes. The 9th was my fault. Made some good saves on the back but am very frustrated with these sudden timing issues that spring up from nowhere. I'm thinking it might be something to do with the surface I use my mouse on...

Just out of interest, what surface do people use when using a mouse?
I move my mouse on a pine desk top and suspect that is causing the occasional problems with Very Fasts and Very Slows. Maybe I should get a mouse mat!!

I use a desk mat which is basically a giant mouse pad. I use this one it has held up very well (2-3 years now) without any signs of wear.
what kind of mouse are you using? and could you need to update the drivers?
one issue I've run into is setting graphics too high or running other applications sometimes causing lag, rarely does it happen when swinging but it has.

Round 2 - Came out firing on all cylinders. played very well, did everything I wanted to do for the most part. then comes #18.. my approach just got to the top of the middle tier then lost steam and rolled all the way down. left me with a 70+ ft putt up 3 ft.. I knew I was at the threshold to even clear the up slope using the putter, I'm not a fan of chipping on the green unless there is fairway/rough between the ball and pin, so I attempted a full swing with putter which came right back down to again 70+ ft up 3ft, so I decided to chip it up and finished off with the bogey. I figured I gave it a good chance the first attempt and was left with no other option, in hindsight maybe I shouldn't have tired to clear the up slope in one putt but instead advance it closer then power up it. Its really a tricky situation because the game limits your putt power (they need a power putt shot type like they have chip/flop/punch/etc.). hopefully this doesn't bother anybody but if it was the wrong thing to do I understand if a penalty needs enforced. (figured I already penalized myself with the first putt lol)

Mouse mat ordered and arriving at the weekend...
Jared, the general rule for putting here is this: If the total distance exceeds 100 feet then you can chip or even flop if you want to.
So 70 feet and 3 feet up would equate to a notional distance of 106 (70 + {3 x 12}), thereby giving you 'carte blanche' to play it how you like.
Remember this for next time!!
