Round 1Whew! This course is worthy of being a Senior U.S. Open track! Very tough, and those greens will cause a lot of problems this week. I had a bad start, but sinking an up-over-and down 60-foot birdie putt on the 9th, arguably toughest hole on the course, helped me claw my way back to par at halfway. A birdie chip-in on the 10th followed, as did two bogeys and another birdie after a great approach. The 18th got me, what a brute that hole is, but I'm almost overjoyed with my start to the week...

Round 1 Got off to a 3 putt start then had a few more in the round, easily done on them greens very tricky, its going to be a nightmare on the very fast greens, for me. Any guest that wins this week has played very well on this course its a monster.  |

round 1 - what an awesome course... checks every box without being too one dimensional. definitely going to be a challenge with increased green speeds. I think to score well here you have to tame your ego and focus on proximity to the hole which for me is laying up and using my short game to eliminate long putts on these undulating greens. I'm satisfied with my opening round, did a great job getting out of some trouble here and there but wish I had a few putts back.

Round 2Expected to nosedive in this round but I managed to hold things together. Good start on #1, holing a 17-foot par putt. Then on #3 I sank a 32-footer for bird, and followed that with a 4-putt bogey on #4 and a 3-putt bogey on #5. In spite of those I finished the front at level par, which was my target. Crept under par with a bird on #17 and stayed there with an excellent par on #18 which could easily have been a birdie. Now I suspect things will get tougher...

Round 2 - the beast was calm today, perfect chance to get ahead of the pack but the course had different plans. I'm satisfied but frustrated.. soooo many opportunities to score better but just didn't finish. my only bogey came from trying to putt out of a crater that didn't have enough juice to clear the up slope making me 3 putt

Round 3 - Absolutely criminal.. not even a tad bit fun. might as well be putting and landing approaches on the concrete parking lot. the massive greens don't lend any hand leaving you with 100+ foot putts that slope 5 different ways. all i can say is good luck... i'll see you all next week - you can find me on the 19th green with some stiff drinks in the meantime!

Round 4 - Its not in me to not finish what I started whether good or bad. If you compare my performance to last week it is certainly the epitome of golf (went from -30 something to +20! that has to be a record haha).... such highs and lows, but just like in life you gotta push through the lows because it makes those highs feel even sweeter! enjoy your weekends everyone, the WMO and super bowl should be entertaining!
