Round 3The opening round breeze was back and the greens had quickened, making putting a little more problematic. Strangely, all but one of the guests posted a round of 71 today. Les Souter, Randy Gran and Ian McKinley were all left treading water, while Hans Kunok's 71, his worst round so far, saw him enter into a tie for 5th place. Bob Fletcher's 71, not too bad considering he registered a triple-bogey on the 10th, was still good enough to keep him in 3rd spot, albeit a mile behind the leader. And that leader is still Jared Kingsley who really turned the screw by carding a fantastic 61, giving him a ten shot lead going into the final round!! The only thing that can deny Jared the win now is a collapse of Norman-esque magnitude but, somehow, I don't see that happening...

Final RoundOnly a breath of wind today, but the greens were completely dry and super-fast. Randy Grant started well enough, birdying the first 2 holes, but things soon turned sour and his eventual 74 enabled Les Souter to leapfrog and demote him into last place with a round of 70. Ian McKinley ended the week as he had started it, with a nondescript 70 to conclude the event in mid-leaderboard. Hans Kunok had played consistently well, if unspectacularly, all week and a closing 68 earned him a five-way share of 4th place along with Bob Fletcher whose 72 was his worst round of the tourney. However, they at least were able to pocket valuable Charles Schwab Cup points for their efforts. Overnight leader Jared Kingsley held a 10-shot lead going into today and, as expected, there was no last round collapse to give hope to his closest rivals. In fact he increased his advantage over Bernhard Langer, his nearest challenger, to 11 strokes by carding a very convincing 67, and Jared's crushing victory will give him every confidence for next week's fourth Major of the season, the Senior U.S. Open...
