Round 2 - Was determined to control my swing timing in this round, and I did it 95% of the time. For very fast greens my putting was pretty good too, but had 3 putts that annoyingly lipped out when I was sure they were going to drop. One bad hole, the par 5 9th, where the 2-foot high bank on the green caught me out and I 4-putted to drop 2 strokes. So my score could easily have been much lower but I'm pleased with the gross 65, net 66 - still in with a chance of a top 10...

Round 2 ( and the day generally) not as I hoped….Missed an Eagle putt on hole 1 , and almost every hole was a struggle. Fortunate birdie on 3, chip in birdie on 4 after missing the green. Swing and tempo issues (my problem, not the game or mouse/pc 😖) Messed up on 8 for a bogie😡…….perhaps a nap 😴 would have helped……🤪 Back 9 bad tee shot on 10 should have prompted me to pack it in today…..but did manage to escape for a birdie. Another struggle on 12. Wind ( only medium as well😯) also seemed to be my enemy today also……what joy 🌬 Last 3 holes birdies gave at least a respectable round for a net 71 I think Then met Bob on the course, as I was checking round 3 wind….💨💨💨🫣😲🤯 He looked in good shape🏌️♂️😃, but maybe an “evil grin” as he confirmed he had set up round 3 just as he wanted….LOL😳🤣 Can’t wait to start round 3….🤪😃😂 Les seems to have got to grips with this week’s comp……great work 🏌️♂️🥳 Mel

Round 3 - Having suffered tempo problems yet again earlier in the day I was a little apprehensive about this round, what with the gale force winds making things tricky. However, I surprised myself by producing a clean card, and a perfectly symmetrical one too!! Very pleased with just about all departments today, now a top 10 finish has become more of a reality...

Round 3, Rather like Bob,I was apprehensive after a disappointing round 2 and similar issues to Bob with tempo and swing…..(old farts syndrome 😠😂) As it turned out the wind switching issues were likely to be a problem, as I don’t calculate for cross wind and use “judgement” as in putting😱 Thanks to some fortunate recovery shots, and a few long putts dropping, the end result was very pleasing……Now Bob has (hopefully) done “punishing” us 💨💨🤯🤣 Round 4 may be a little calmer?…….Oh I see🧐 “high winds” round 4……Oh well, Christmas break coming up👍🥳🏌️♂️🎅 Mel

LOL Mel, I try not to make it too easy to win an event. Any win should be thoroughly earned and this week is no exception!! It's a fine balance trying to choose conditions that are challenging but not too brutal, and I almost always make the 4 sets of conditions as varied as possible. Hope you're still enjoying the tour - but I suppose you must be otherwise you wouldn't be here, and the same applies to everyone else I guess!!!

Well they have let go home as an out patient for Xmas - I just have to go back every two days for 3 hours - it's about all they can do for me at this point, but at least I can spend xmas with the grandkids. ANYWAY a little humor When I went in and they knocked me out I swear this was my nurse BUT when I woke up this was actually my NURSE - F**king DRUGS anyway.

Hi Ian, The first “lady” would only send your blood pressure up too high anyway😲😳🤪😂…..nice way to go though! The second one works in the hospital I was in last month, when I said I was in too much pain to get out of bed……”shift your ar*e”🥴😩🤣 “unless you want me in with you?” Angels of mercy though, and I’m sure they take good care of you, and your family, Enjoy your Christmas with the grandchildren. Final round 4 at Appletown. Very nice course, and Bob did a good job in making it fun and “stressful” 😄🫣 High wind 💨still a challenge, and switching around🤪, just to make you concentrate 🧐 Very solid, with a bonus chip in Eagle on 9, and a strong finish. Managed to get closer to pins than some earlier rounds….perhaps not thinking too much🤔🥸😲👍as I needed to watch the World Cup football final⚽️. One of the best finals ever (apart from 1966 of course….🥳🥳🥳🥳) Very happy with 3 of my 4 rounds😉😁 Thanks Bob, for a picturesque course🏌️♂️👍 Looking forward to Christmas now🎅 Ian’s challenges make us all realise what is important, especially at this time of the year. Best wishes Ian Mel

Round 4 Started off great then got stuck in a par rut basically because i couldn't get the ball closeto pins and my putting was shite again, had a snot on 6th and finished front with a tweeter. Missed a simple 6 footer on 10 for bird then 1 bird in next 5 holes, at this stage i was limping and was falling down the leader board. Took a five minute breather and returned make a strong finish. Great course and a good test of golf I enjoyed it even though i limped thru the last 2 rounds. I'm sure i read somewhere Bob saying he wasn't going to use high and very high winds as much for this tour . He must have been kidding the sadist ROFLMAO

Round 4 - After battling the high winds in Round 3 I was disappointed with this effort. My putting especially let me down, missing countless birdie chances. On the whole though, I have to be generally pleased. I can still use the draw to get extra yardage, particularly off the tee, but I use it about half as much as I used to for other shots. Lovely course, there will be more to follow, I promise!
