Round 1 - As usual I was looking forward to a new tourney. As usual my game was crap and I felt deflated well before the end of the round. After an opening bogey, I sank a 33-footer on #3 for bird, just one of two highlights. Stupid bogey on #6, a par 5, and I just couldn't find my natural draw. Then it suddenly appeared on #8 - and I pulled my drive left into the water, eventually dropping two more shots. On #11 I had a slow and my ball fell short of the green - and into the water. My only other highlight came on #16 when I hit my approach to 4 feet. Another silly bogey on another par 5 finished things off on #18. I wonder why I bother sometimes...

Round 1. As i thought last week was never going to last, got off to a good start and then all hell let loose on my game, fast, slows, and then them very inconsistent moderate greens, i took Ian around with me and he seemed to be having similar problems in fact some of my shots were like instant replays of his landing in similar places, i also see Bob had issues with par 5s i also found them very tricky. That puts me out of contention already this week. Oh well.

Round 2 - What a strange game golf is. I played much better in this round and that was probably because of a combination of things. My mindset was much better, my timing was better but not perfect, and I felt more comfortable on the slower greens. Most memorable shot was a drive on the back nine where I got a Very Fast. The ball headed off into the trees, hit a trunk and rebounded into the middle of the fairway - I think I made par LOL. The wind wasn't a problem, it was probably more of a help than a hindrance I think. Pleased with my score and almost looking forward to the next two rounds...

Round 2 Joined Ian for this round and got off to a terrible start but fought back immediately only to bogey 4th, front 9 was average. Back 9 good start then stuck in a par rut, putting is a massive struggle at minute i do not feel in control of it at all. Not going anywhere in this event not enjoying this course at all, cannot wait for it to finish.

Round 3 - Having taken a couple of days off from playing I had a practice round, and the timing was strange. I had a lot of Very Fasts, but when I tried to slow down my swing that's when it got interesting. When I tried to get a Fast I got a Perfect, and when I tried to get a Perfect I got a Fast - so when I started Round 3 I didn't know what was going to happen. Sure enough, I bogeyed the first two holes, but then somehow birdied the 3rd. Managed to control the timing to par my way to the turn, then it got weird. Four birds in a row and my usual draw had completely disappeared, apart from a couple of drives with a following wind, which I wanted to take advantage of. I normally spend a lot of time chipping around the greens because of wayward approaches, but not today! Now I have to try to find that Perfect rhythm in Round 4, that'll be interesting...

Round 4 - Plagued by Very Fasts from the very first tee where I found OOB. This round was a complete write-off. Lots of red numbers until the 18th, where the final kick in the teeth came when my eagle chip lipped out and I had to settle for a birdie. Glad this event is over - and even better news, only one to go...
No card for this round - it looked too much like a Sam Peckinpah movie...
