Round 3 - Les Souter again played well in the benign conditions, no wind and very fast and firm greens, to fire a 66 which enabled him to stay as joint leader with Steve Flesch (66). Tiger Woods remained two strokes behind as he, too, carded a 66, and it was looking almost certain that victory would be tasted by one of these three. Round 4 - Heavy overnight rain had slowed down the greens substantially, and there was also a breeze to contend with. Steve Flesch and Tiger Woods stumbled their way around with a pair of 69's, and they were both overtaken by Duffy Waldorf who produced the best round of the day, a stunning 62. But Les Souter held firm to shoot a fine 64, thereby claiming the win by four strokes! Ian McKinley's 68 was his best effort of the tourney, but Bob Fletcher again struggled with his timing and his 72 left him trailing the field by more shots than he would like me to mention...
