There are so many GREAT courses out there which, with all due respect to Peter, I would prefer to use. Peter is obviously a talented designer but, to be honest, not in the same league as several others - mainly because I think they have more experience with the design program and, consequently, more detailed knowledge of how to use it to best advantage.

Yes Ian, PRO clubs only is a very good shout. And I agree that 1) we should start a new Handicap calculation, and 2) everyone starts at 0 for the first event, and 3) new handicaps start from event 2. I think I'll start working on the schedule and look at some courses. What are your thoughts on weather conditions? Guys Rather than use the first event to calculate why not use the scores from the 2 previous ones on old tour so you have 11 from 12. The 4 rounds from event one should prove rather difficult. For example Ian shoots 63,67,66,65 minus handicap of 0 that means after event 1 Ian is -19 (based on a par of 70) that gives him a handicap of -19 for event 2. What i have found over the course of the current tours we very rarely get anywhere near the pros because 1, the conditions we have are very difficult, which isn't a bad thing by the way. 2 Then add handicaps, plus handicaps put you out the running straight away, not only are you playing very tough conditions you are giving the pros a head start, this week Ian is off +6 which means he is giving the pros a 24 shot head start, i see the event pro winner won with a score of -13 Ian needs to shoot -38 to win with tough conditions. However if we use the lowest handicapped player each week and have him/her off 0 then the others get the equivalent off their handicaps, lets use this weeks handicaps as an example Ian is the lowest with +6, take 6 off ian to make him 0, i do same for all players Randy would be -4, Bob -6, Les -8 ( useless git ) Charlie would be -6, these would be playing handicaps, however when it comes to handicap adjustments for next week use the original handicaps in above table and NETT scores not GROSS scores for the calculations,( Nett scores are always used for calculating handicaps in real golf ) for example Ian shoots RD 1 60 +6 = 66 nett, RD 2 63 +6 = 69 nett, RD 3 65 + 6 = 71 nett, RD 4 64 + 6 = 70 nett. so nett scores counting for handicap would be 66,69,71,70. Its so difficult to pick the right formula but this might work better than the other, i will keep dabbling with the figures and see how past events figures would have worked out using nett scores and the scratch as best handicapped player.

Correct Les - The real issue with handicapping these events as you know is we don't use an accurate slope or course handicap - so if you have a good event that fits your eye you are actually penalized for the next four events - there is no real solid system.
I do believe that we have come close with no one dominating the winners circle - and lets face it - it needs to be a simple calculation that can be consistent.
BOB - You are correct about the courses - what you may find appealing I may hate and visa versa - that's golf - I rate a course by the Map because of our setups - You rate a course by the scenery - that's just the way it is nothing right or wrong about either. I look at a course and wonder where I can miss it and still have a shot - some look at a course and say where can I hit it and get a bird - and that's what makes it fun IMO
I will keep searching

LMAO!!!! It's one heck of a course ain't it bud?!!! Looks great but plays real tough. I ended up with +5 I think. You have to consider though, that the conditions we played are almost the hardest possible and, bearing that in mind, I think it should be included, but only as the venue in the event the old timers didn't score well on.
What do you think? LOL

I discovered today that Event 20, the Pacific Links China Championship, was cancelled in 2015 because of a tragic incident close to the golfing venue...
"Multiple explosions occurred after a fire broke out at a container storage facility. It is understood that more than 100 people died, including a large number of firefighters and first responders, hundreds of people were injured, and a large number of people are missing. It is believed the extensive damage and chemical contamination was contained within a small area of the port."
I propose that we keep the event but instead use the 2014 leaderboard, which actually was played in Hawaii, not China, and I will select a course accordingly.
