Round 4 - Much easier conditions today, rain had softened and slowed down the greens, and there was no more than a breeze to combat. Having said that, an indication that not all was well with Les Souter's game was his score of 72, his third level par round of the tourney. A bogey on the very first hole did not augur well for Bob Fletcher, but he soon put that behind him to card a 67, even saving par on the 18th when his attempted approach found the creek. Ian McKinley had looked out of sorts all week, so it came as a pleasant surprise when he conjured up a super 64, today's best round, and hopefully he can carry that fine form into this week's Open Championship at St Andrews, his favourite course. At the top of the leaderboard the overnight leaders slugged it out to the very last hole, and it was Tiger Woods who finally prevailed, shooting a 65 to edge out Grant Waite by one stroke...
