Round 1 - An unexpected good start, but it soon started to go wrong. Driving was good, approaches indifferent, and putting was poor. Always liked this course though, and I enjoyed the round even though my score was rubbish. The only way is up - I hope...

Round 2 - Thought this round was going the same way as my first round, thanks to a couple of Very Fasts which cost me at least 2 strokes. However, a late rally on my part salvaged the round, but my putting was not as good as it should have been.

We kept three of our grandchildren (ages 9, 6 and 4) the past 10 days while mommy and daddy were in Hawaii; just returned them this afternoon. Can't say that the long layoff has done my game any good. No timing and a putting nightmare in R1; not much better in R2. Just trying to regain some timing this week; shot myself out of the tournament in R1.

Round 3 - Went into this round completely cold, no practice holes at all. I'll have to do that more often because I played very well, had no bogeys and had a chip-in par save on the 18th. I just felt very relaxed and swung nice 'n' easy, worked a treat. Even my putting was pretty good, although I did miss a couple towards the end that would have given me an even better score..

Round 4 - Chipped in for bird on #3, then chipped in for par on #5, so naturally thought this was going to be my day. Brought back to Earth with a double on #7. My timing became a little unsettled, and a Very Fast with my approach on #11 saw a shot dropped. Made good birds on #14 and #17 to sneak back under par and complete an enjoyable week here...
