Round 1 First off this course is a very poor rendition with very little resemblance of St Andrews, far to many hills, far to many slopes and hills on greens, ive played it in real life and i cannot recall ever having a 2 foot uphill putt, the bunkers are far too deep they are like bomb craters, i thought it was one of them joke courses Terry used to play. I predict no guest winner this week on this course especially if very fast, very firm and high winds are the flavour of the event. Good luck all.
Shot 71 and played very well.

No kidding - I got into a bunker in middle of fairway I could only flop out of and another beside green - I could not get out of - Mind Blowing |

I will make a suggestion for what it's worth. There are top notch renditions of the St Andrews Old Course that can be used for an important tournament like this. I just checked and played the first 9 holes of St Andrews The Old Course, 7048 yards, and it has over 54,000 plays. It looks and feels (at least the front nine) like every other good simulation I have played for The Old Course.
My suggestion is that we reboot this tournament, substitute either the course I mentioned or find another that does not have the flaws that have been identified. Of course, it is easy for me to make suggestions. I don't know what sort of havoc trying to change a course midstream during a tournament will wreak with the tournament programming that may be involved.
So, like I said, for what it's worth.

Good idea Charlie. No further play this week. I'll add The Open back in the schedule with the correct version of the course sometime after the PGA Championship which is in 4 weeks time.

I have amended the schedules both here and in the in-game PLAYPGATOUR society pages. The Open Championship will now be Event 36 and commence on 1st August.
