Round 1 - After playing well in the last three rounds at River Highlands I was full of optimism for this outing. And a birdie on the 1st promised more good things. But from the 4th hole onwards, although my driving was good, my approaches started to find sand instead of greens, and my sand play was poor. Started the back determined to pull back some shots, and birds on #10 and #11 gave me hope - but I messed up #13 badly, and another bogey on #16 sealed my fate. Another poor opening round - I think I need to consult a golf psychologist...

Round 2 - Forgot to take a screenshot of my card. Another 75 and boy, this is a tough course!! Started solidly and grabbed one birdie on the front, that came on the 7th when I sank a 45-foot putt. Had a 3-putt on #9, the nasty pin (and there were several) on #10 saw another shot dropped. The best shot I hit was my approach to #18 which pitched and ran to within 10 feet of the pin, only to roll off the green 27 yards away! Managed to get up and down to save par and restrict the damage...

Round 3 - Made another good start by holing a 25-foot putt for bird. I watched some golf on TV today and one of the commentators said that if the total of your successful putts was around 100 feet, that was considered to be pretty good, so I added up my holed putts distances and they came to 111 feet for the round. My other two birdies came from putts of 12 feet and 5 feet. Interesting. I only dropped shots on three holes, including the 18th when I had a Very Fast on my approach, much to my anger. Not too unhappy with my score considering the tough conditions...

Round 4 - Ended the week with a good effort, my best round of the event. After a shaky start I grabbed my solitary birdie on the long par 3 6th with an unusually good 2-wood tee-shot and a careful putt. My round finished with 12 pars, with a sprinkling of missed birdie chances and some good par saves. I hope next week is a little easier...
