Round 4 - Potentially the toughest round of the week, with strong, gusting winds, fast putting surfaces, and some difficult pins. Ian McKinley succumbed to the conditions and carded an uncharacteristic 73 to end the week tied last. Charlie Roberts' second 68 of the event saw him finish with a share of 20th spot, and he even managed to birdie the 10th hole with its' frightening pin placement. Unexpectedly, Bob Fletcher produced his best golf of the tourney and was rewarded with a bogey-free 65, which also included a birdie on the terrifying 10th green. Bob's performance earned him a share of 13th place, something he had not anticipated after a nervy opening round. Going into today Les Souter had a very realistic chance of making it two wins in as many weeks. However, Les could only muster a round of 70, a triple bogey on that 10th hole not helping his cause at all. He had to make do with a 3rd place tie with tour pro Kirk Triplett, whose incredible 61 yesterday was the best round of the tournament. Last week Notah Begay lost in a play-off to Les, but this week he was not to be denied, his scintilating 64 today overhauling overnight leader Mark Calcavecchia by a single stroke.
