Round 1 - After 10 holes I was really enjoying the challenge and doing ok. Then I got a Very Fast on the 11th that cost me 2 strokes. After that my thought processes shut down, I was really pi**ed off. Oh well, there's another tourney next week...

This course will eat your lunch in a heart beat - sucker pins in round one be careful - even par would be a good score

Round 2 - No disasters this time, just disappointed with the last few holes. Solid front, 2 birds, good 2-putt on the 11th for par, it was going too well. Narrowly missed my par putt on #14, silly water-ball on #15, couldn't birdie the par 5 16th, grabbed a good par on #17, then an overhit chip cost me on #18. Still enjoyed the round though...

Getting a late start this week. R1 and R2 scorecards attached, both of which should have been better. I played relatively consistently in both rounds; many slows but kept the ball on the short grass for most of both rounds. In R1, the pin on 18 is unfair - not more than 12 inches from a steep downslope. I know because I hit 3 chips from 7 yards that landed 12-18 inches short, came to a stop, began to creep slowly back and rolled off the green to my feet. If I ever have that shot again, I'll have to remember it has to land at least pin high to stay up there. But it is a bad pin placement. Any pin should be at least 6-8 feet from a severe downslope. R2, I shot myself in the foot when I tripled-bogied Hole 15. I should have pitched back to the fairway after hitting my tee shot behind a tree; that would have cost a stroke but provided an open shot to the green; tried instead to draw one around the tree I was behind, hit the tree, ricocheted and landed behind a whole grove of trees to the right of the green with water behind them. Played three more shots through trees from there to get on the green, and two-putted for a 7. Poor course management on my part. Will have to salvage what I can at this point.

R3, as they say this is "moving day," and I managed to make a pretty big move. Easy conditions out there today, and I played a lot better than in R1 and R2. We'll see how R4 goes.

Round 3 - Yes Charlie, the greens were particularly easier, but my putting couldn't take advantage. I had one Very Fast, that came on the 6th and cost me a shot, very annoying as usual. Not too unhappy with this effort, an under-par round is always good isn't it?

R4, could not get anything going until late in the round; putted very well the entire round but my ball-striking was not up to form. Glad to leave this course. I really don't like it when designers slope fairways to run into water and place a few pins immediately adjacent to severe slopes. But it is now ancient history; on to next week.

Round 4 - Pleased with my general play, especially my putting, in this round. What a shame about the 12th though! Unlucky to find water off the tee, my pitch was short and I 3-putted, a real mess, the only hole I dropped shots on. I like this course because of the variety of the holes, and the greens, while tricky, are not extreme like some. Looking forward to next week - as long as I don't have an opening round like I did this week...
