Round 2 - The wind increased in intensity to leave the greens bone hard and lightning fast. A more focussed Bob Fletcher tightened up his game and was rewarded with a pretty solid 68, but his poor opening round means he remains at the foot of the leaderboard. Ian McKinley matched Bob's 68, the highlight of his round being an eagle 2 on the 10th, but although he is well placed in a share of 4th spot, he is six strokes behind the leader. Overnight joint leader Les Souter carved out a superb 64, aided by rare back-to-back eagles on #6 and #7, but he was outscored by another overnight joint leader, Davis Love III, whose stunning 63 edged him a shot ahead of Les. Tiger Woods, making his first appearance since the Masters, appears to be struggling and is currently languishing way back in a tie for 35th place, which won't do much to help him rise up the money-list...

Round 4 - The final day brought gusting winds again, but that didn't prevent some very low scoring. After a very promising opening round of 63, Charlie Roberts was unable to reproduce that sparkling form again and a closing 68 earned him a tied 16th finish. Tiger Woods mounted a late charge by firing a super 63 but it was only enough to provide him with a share of 7th spot. After Round 3 it looked very much like a shoot-out between Les Souter and Ian McKinley to determine this week's winner, but that didn't turn out to be the case. Ian's worst round of the event, a 70, and Les's worst, a 71, subsequently saw them conclude the tourney in a tie for 2nd place. Randy Grant, who had looked a very unlikely winner after completing the first two rounds in level par, had yesterday posted a stunning 62, the equal best round of the week, to give himself an outside chance. And with Les and Ian stumbling at the final hurdle, Randy leapfrogged both of them by shooting a brilliant 63 to claim victory by two strokes. So Randy now has two wins this season, adding to the Nissan Open he won at Riviera almost three months ago. And Les has to wait another week for his second win, while Ian extends his lead in the season's earnings table...
