Round 1 - Played solidly but was very annoyed when I bogeyed #14 after a poor sand shot, the only stain on my card. The flattish greens were a welcome change after last week's trials and tribulations, this could be an enjoyable week...

Round one - average play - left a ton out there - I can see the master clubbers ripping this apart all par 5 would be gettable - I could almost get there with pro clubs

Round 1 Got off to a blistering start which i managed to maintain thru front 9 and upto hole 12, suddenly i couldn't buy a putt and got into a par rut but finished with a bird. Pleased i managed a clean card for a change. Onward. Round 2 Started straight away with a snot with a shooter of a putt, settled on next 4 holes then bam a triple and 2 bogeys out the blue, ive seen some weird things happen in this game but shooter putts, slows and fasts and clubs travelling 40 yards further than it should just were totally unexplainable. On back 9 the putting was abysmal but managed to hold it together, i finally sank a decent putt on 18 to salvage a better score. I like this course and have always played well on it no idea what happened here. Onward.

Round 2 - Disappointed with this round, didn't get close enough with approaches and a careless 3-putt on #8 cost me a bogey. Played a little better on the back, the highlight being my 1-iron approach to #17 that produced a bird. Still in the hunt...

Round 3 - Had a horrendous first 7 holes, was just in the wrong mindset I think. Found my composure on the 8th and kept it for the rest of the round. Had a handful of birdie putts that narrowly missed but, Considering my start, I'm not unhappy with my final score!

Round 1
Going ok through 9 and took a stumble on 10 and 11 then had to fight my way home. I couldn't stay out of the rough coming in.

Flew in from Switzerland where I was designing a new golf course around some lakes near the beautiful Swiss Alps; flew from Ireland to get there since I was also working on a new course in the Skellig Ring where I designed my first course, so a bit of globe-hopping. Because of my design activities, I have not played any golf since our last tourney. And it showed in my timing on the driving range, lol. But, since I got a late start, I decided to go ahead and play R1. It turned out to be probably my best round ever with the mouse swing, at least in terms of consistency. I think I was only in the rough one time, and that was when I bombed a drive around 335 and ran out of fairway. I love these greens - most predictable putting I've experienced in a long time; only made one bad putt and that was on hole 17 where I hit the first putt too hard. But for that, I would have had a clean card.

Jet lag must have plagued me in R2; no swing timing on the front 9, but a semblance returned on the back. Still love these greens.

R3 finished my tournament early. I hate slow greens. Six-putted number 15. There's probably a rut in that green where I went back and forth so many times. Sorry for all the footprints around the hole. I was not striking the ball well either, and you have to hit the ball solidly in high wind or you can't compete. Still like this course and the greens though; just don't like the way I played or putted in this round. Oh well, there's always next week. Onward.

Round 4 - Played ok on the front, then the best moment of the round came on the 10th when I holed a 29-foot birdie putt. Wilted a bit towards the end but these were difficult conditions. I'm away next week but hope to complete my rounds at English Turn and post leaderboards as usual...

Round 3 Started front 9 with a snot and finished it with a snot, back 9 started well then couldn't buy a putt and ended in another par rut. Onwards.
