Round 1 - After last week's low scoring event, Sedgefield should provide a tougher test. No flattish greens here, in fact these greens could be some of the toughest of the season. Ian McKinley was so disenchanted with the course after carding a painful 74 he may not complete the tournament. Randy Grant had problems with club selection and putting, so actually did well to also shoot a 74. Les Souter copied Ian's recent mistake by using the wrong set of clubs, but he wasn't too despondent after his 72. Charlie Roberts made some interesting comments relating to the putting surfaces but sidestepped curious reporters anxious to quiz him further, but an opening 70 was certainly no disaster. Last week's winner of the MCI Classic, Bob Fletcher, battled well and was happy with his 69, but this course could get even more difficult as the week progresses...
