Round 4 - The players couldn't have wished for better scoring conditions today - no wind, straightforward pin locations, and perfect greens. Charlie Roberts' 78 showed he is still coming to grips with his new clubs, while Ian McKinley's relatively poor 74 ended a below par week (excuse the pun) when it had promised greater things after the first two rounds. Bob Fletcher was left thinking about all those missed birdie putts, even though his eventual 69 earned him a respectable tied 23rd position, and Les Souter deserved his share of 9th spot when he carded a 68, but even he had his own putting issues. Comically, when Randy Grant came off the driving range prior to his round, he inadvertently picked up the wrong set of clubs, but they did him no harm at all as he blitzed his way around with a stellar score of 62! Only a bogey on #17 prevented a 'clean' round and equalling the best round of the event, a stunning 61 by Stephen Ames in Round 2. Randy finished tied 3rd, 5 strokes behind the winner, tour pro Jim Furyk, but maybe the guests will have more joy in next week's Honda Classic...
