Round 1 - Firstly, what a great course this is! I've loved playing here since the first time on Jack Nicklaus 6 many years ago. Les started well and was striking the ball perfectly, but his putting let him down in this round. And he caught my habit of following a birdie with a bogey twice on the back. I had several putts that grazed the edge of the cup, until I sank one on #17 for bird and then another one on #18 for bogey, after my drive was blown into the water. Looking forward to 3 more rounds here, whatever happens...

Rode along with Les.....Tough luck on the back par 3 Les!
I started with a bogie and thought 'Rut-Ohh' but, I somehow finished up with some saving putts and nice approaches for me.

Sorry I had to bail fellas, a total blast! It's a big advantage playing with others, well, civilized, nice others, not you all! 😁
Hope we can catch up this afternoon/evening. Last night's time was perfect usually.

Round 2
I couldn't hold onto the birds; a tough track. #12 was a heart breaker

Round 2 With Mark, steady round for Mark bogey free but he still left one or two out there. Mine was a mish mash with birdie, bogey birdie bogey for first 10 holes then settled into a rythem and had a good finish. Tough conditions but great track.

Round 2 - Played surprisingly well, putting was unusually solid and I scrambled well. Main problem was I was hitting the ball so sweetly I overhit a few approaches. Had a mini-meltdown towards the end, but finished strongly with a couple of birds. I love this course...

My effort to save the scorecard for R1 failed, but here is the scorecard for R2. Some tough putting this round; but, after bad first putts, made a couple of crucial putts to save pars.

R3. The back 9 seems to be a lot easier than the front; either that or I need 9 holes to warm up, lol.

Round 3 - Never had so many birdies in a tour round! The problem was I also had a couple of bogeys and a couple of silly doubles, mainly due to poor putting! Also had a couple of eagle chances that I failed to convert. Still, a gross under par round is always good - but it could have been so much more under par lol. Mark played well until the 18th where he misjudged the wind and his drive found water, eventually carding a double. Another frustrating round made more tolerable by the excellent company!

Could not get anything going in R4; could not seem to get the ball to the hole; left a lot of putts short. On to next week.
