Thanks for your help. Hit them long. I would need to know a lot more about your current set up before offering any advice - There is a free app that you can download that would tell us what you have and what would need to be done to improve Its called Speccy I will post an example of one of my PC's

That's a built in graphics - I would have to see inside your case to see if you could add a card

You are very limited with this system 1) vid card will physically not fit into case 2) psu (power supply) OEM was 220 and even a weak upgrade to nvidia 935 would require a 300 w PSU I personally would not attempt an upgrade on this unit (Dell) early years was limited ask Santa for a new unit Any more I would not buy a desktop - I personally would go with a gamming laptop example MSI GF75 10UEK-003CA Thin w/ Coreā¢ i7-10750H, 16GB, 512GB NVMe SSD, 17.3in Full HD 144Hz, GeForce RTX 3060, Win 10 Home Then you can add a bigger monitor via HDMI or most new smart TV's will work as a monitor - and lets face it you can unplug it and relax on your bed and play golf after the old lady pisses you off This is my opinion only Ian

I was in the same boat. My old computer (2013) has an Intel CPU that is not supported by Windows 11. There is a workaround that some folks are using to load Windows 11 on these older computers, but I don't know if Microsoft will support these with MS updates. Plus I am finding that my old system does not meet the minimum specs required to run some of the newer games that are coming out. So I made the decision to buy a new computer, which I did yesterday. Here are the specs on my old computer: I decided I wanted to upgrade my video card to something quite a bit faster to give me a little more headroom for future games. I keep a computer for a long time. After quite a bit of research, I settled on the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 (not the Ti version). I have always bought the intel CPU chipsets in the past but this time, because I could not find a pre-built with the pairing I wanted at the price I was willing to pay, I decided on the AMD Ryzen 5600X chipset instead. I have built my own PCs in the past, and I considered building again, but it is virtually impossible to find the higher end Nvidia GPUs if you are a builder. Supply is extremely limited, so a lot of guys who usually build have been buying pre-builts this past year. Here are links to the components of my new rig: ASUS ROG STRIX GA15ASUS ROG STRIX
But I would suggest that you consider what you will be running. You don't need this much computer or graphic processing power to run TGC 19 or PGA 2K21, or any of the older golf games. And you can find gaming rigs for less than $1,000 that may meet your needs. Here is an example of one: HP Gaming ComputerGood luck. You can spend a lot of time researching this stuff. So it helps to decide first what apps you will mostly be running on your new computer.

I got a new laptop last year, Sager i7-10750, 32gb ram, 1tb SSD, 1tb HDD and Nvidia 1060ti. I'm a hack guitarist and recording hobbyist so needed the ram.
If this game is the most taxing your system is going to face, like Ian said, i5-9/10 with 8gb ram should be fine.
Prices have gone up a good bit across the board but you can get great deals, especially with older models.

Hello Charlie.
First off congrats on the win you are on fire! Also thanks for the good info on the computer you are right I only have the time for golf so I only need what I need for golf. I know this thing is old so I thought I would improve on both things at the same time the computer and golf. You have a top shelf system there what a great investment best of luck my friend.

RTA You need to start with your budget and work from there - Charlie made a great point - look ahead to the future I owned a computer repair shop for years and it was always the same issue with customers, they buy min and then a year later they are in doing it again. I will repeat my self - the versatility is in laptops now that you can change Vid Cards Don't lock yourself in a corner.
But as always these are my opinions only - too bad you were not up here in Canada - I prolly got enough crap laying around here to make something work. I just open the closet and i have a new psu 330 and gtx250 card laying here anyone could have them if needed

Thanks guys, it was a long time coming! I have yet to turn on my new computer; waiting until the new monitor arrives, then I will uncable everything, move components around and get things positioned where I want them. I will be surprised if my game play improves with the new rig; I think, in computer golf, the archer is more important than the arrows. Even in sim racing, where you can spend thousands of dollars on direct drive wheel bases, wireless steering wheels, engineered racing pedals, etc., lap times don't improve by much for the guys who are moving up from belt drive wheels like Logitech or Thrustmaster. It's more about seat time than the quality of the seat. But I do expect games like Assetto Corsa Competizione to run smoother on the new rig; at least that's my hope.
