Round 1 - After successfully completing the 1970 season I was very excited to start another PGA Tour season. So imagine my mood when I started off with 3 bogeys!! I managed to regain my composure and the rest of the round just got better and better, culminating in me sinking a raking 53-footer for eagle on the monster 18th! A real blast, I would have saved it but it was the last shot of the round! Anyway, a great start for me, and what an awesome course!!

I was wondering who that was!!!!! LOL
My Kapalua story: My wife and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua, wife was given a week at any Ritz so we chose Maui. This was 1998, on the actually day, I got a tee time at 8:00, she got spa appointment at 10, we'd meet back at the room to prepare for our anniversary dinner at the 4 star restaurant where we had reservations at 7. Great plan!!!!
I show up, get my demo set, pay my $100 and off I go. Place was BEAUTIFUL!!!! #11 little par 3 looks over pacific, just unreal. I shoot an 87, didn't play too badly but OB areas got me more than once! So, after the round I have to have the obligatory beer at the 19th. Great plan!!!! Here I am on the veranda of an old clubhouse that sits upon an old pineapple plantation that happens to have a world class golf course cutting through it, overlooking the Pacific, absolutely one of the most beautiful places you could imagine. My couple beers turns into about 10! LOL
I get to room, a total mess, tell the Mrs that I don't think I can make it to dinner. She's pissed but understanding being the saint she is.... She decides we'll have a nice romantic room service dinner.... A Ritz Carlton room service dinner..... Great Plan!!!! Yeah, I passed out and didn't wake up til after midnight.....
My wife doesn't like this story...... LOL

Round 2 - back to the serious stuff lol. Was a little apprehensive going into this round, but ended it slightly disappointed that I didn't break par. Not as hard as I thought it was going to be, I'm pleased with this effort - but you definitely have to focus!!

Rd 1 Not the way I wanted to start..........I couldn't putt at all....I missed several within 5 feet, just couldn't hit it hard enough. Quite depressing !

Round three - could not stop the very fast at the top - cost me this round - not sure what to do actually - it started a while ago and is getting worse and worse - maybe time for a break.

Ian, I do worry about you a lot my friend, and this is why! Have you ever considered seeking psychiatric help?!
