...we will be playing another PGA TOUR season - 2000, arguably Tiger Woods finest year.
The theme will be 'Tame the Tiger' and the 43-week season has already been drawn up and will be published shortly.
The quarterly competitions - Winter Trophy, Spring Swing, Summer Bowl, Autumn Cup - will still feature.
So watch this space...

Hi Boss,
Will this be played on 2K21 ?
One thing on 2K21 you can speed the ghost shots up instead of waiting for them to play out. More control of your shots too.

At the moment the plan is to continue on TGC2019. According to Ian there is a lot of cheating happening on 2K21 so I'm reluctant to transfer the society if that is the case - it would make a mockery of what we try to achieve here, realistic scoring being one of the aims.
Any opinions on the subject would be very welcome...

Any opinions on the subject would be very welcome... I agree Bob - there is no way that we have the staff to police the straight edger's or any other controller settings nor do I want to - being a real golfer I like the challenge of the unknowns, the 1970 season that you built proves that even gamers cannot beat the pros all the time, I have played many games in my life where conditions are not favorable nor fun but we power through - that is the challenge. 2019 seems to be running very well and there are a lot of real nice courses. We seem to have a very nice crew here that all get along and no bullshit in the forums, remember PG and our first attempt at 2019 it took us all day to sift through the bullshit. Just open up 2k21 and look through the societies if -50 is your goal that's the place to be, there is no possible way that those scores would ever be possible outside. Our goal was to develop a game where we tried to compete with history and I for one think you have done a great job - just look through the winners - no one has dominated every one has a chance every week. If you get bored switch clubs play Pro then play master - that's what I do - I am a scratch golfer or was outside and to shoot par or a couple under is a great feeling - hit it deep in the rough scramble a par, I get better satisfaction than hitting it 350 - chip and make bird. I would have to think twice if you decide 2k21 Ian

Myself I haven't seen any cheaters, but I don't really pay attention to other scores. Their probably playing with all the goodies turned on. You turn off most of the pro helpers then it gets interesting. I don't play 2K21 with any helpers on and score the same as I do on 2K19. Admin can tell when you are using an un-qualified controller or mouse, it's in the rules of play.
Just saying..........

Agree with everything said here, keep up the fantastic work! Look forward to Year of the Tiger! As I've mentioned before I know it's difficult and challenging to do this and keep it difficult, challenging and fun but you do!
Thank you!

Oh yeah, so glad you're keeping this in TGC and not 2K21, really dislike 2K21.

Just wanted to take this opportunity to say how wonderful this set up is. I very rarely get close to winning any tournaments but the challenge is what keeps bringing me back.
I, for one, would not enjoy playing on 2k21 as it is the gameplay there that drove me to look elsewhere - and I'm glad I did.
Thank you to a great bunch of people for making this what it is. I look forward to trying to tame the tiger (not). I would also enjoy a lighter handicap now and again. 😉

WE played hours and hours of games trying different settings - I mean look at Bob no hair left . How could we get a computer game close to match the scores of 1970 - when a 460cc driver and 280 yard 4 irons were just a dream that Chi Chi had one night. Bob and I played many many games at +15 for 9 holes and I do believe I broke at least 4 mice - and 2 monitors, as well as fixed one window and repaired a hole in my office wall before I bought a corded mouse. And then we started to work on a handicap system, I bet I have 5 gig of spreadsheets before we settled on the current one, which is TOTAL OF ELEVEN OUT OF LAST 12 THROWING OUT HIGHEST SCORE WITH A BASE SCORE OF 70. Remember all this costs you nothing, just leave the odd comment and please just have fun - remember you are playing against the "greats of the game". Again Bob pulls a Rabbit from his hat and come up with the 2000 pga year - one of Tigers greatest years - 9 wins WORLD GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP ARNOLD PALMER INVITATIONAL THE MEMORIAL RBC CANADIAN OPEN MERCEDES CHAMPIONSHIP AT&T PEBBLE BEACH PRO AM PGA CHAMPIONSHIP THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP US OPEN

Great post Ian!! I'm a great believer in the saying "you only get out of something what you put in" and Ian is right when he says we've put a lot of time and effort to get this concept off the ground, and kept it running - and will continue to keep it running. You can tell I'm not the greatest exponent of this game from my scores, my aim is always to beat par, but I enjoy that challenge enormously!! What I enjoy even more is seeing other people get enjoyment out of something that Ian and I have created - that's a real blast. And finally, I love the work involved putting the tours together - finding the courses, trying to set the conditions so that our scores don't obliterate the professionals' scores, writing the round reports, and producing the leaderboards.
I haven't stopped laughing since I read this post by Ian LMAO. But it's also a testament to how addictive the challenge of this tour is! No matter how frustrating the game can be, we all come back to the first tee to put ourselves through another hour or so of harmless pain - I'd be lost without it!!
