Round 1 - What a lovely course this is! And it seems to be less stressless than most somehow. Anyway, that appears not to have been the case for Roger Instell who could only muster a 73, and especially Ian McKinley who limped in with a less than impressive 75. Hans Kunok is handily placed in a share of 14th after his steady 70, while Bob Fletcher was almost ecstatic when he shot a sparkling 67, mainly thanks to birdies on the last three holes. Randy Grant has been grappling with his game for quite a while now, but judging from today's performance he appears to have turned a corner. All the opening day kudos went to him after his superb 65 placed him at the top of the leaderboard!

Round 2 - At the time of writing this only three guests have completed the first two rounds, so the current leaderboard is likely to change somewhat I suspect. As it stands, Ian McKinley just can't find any good form at all, and even though he improved on his first round score, his 73 today sees him firmly entrenched at the bottom of the field. Bob Fletcher also improved on his opening effort, shooting a fine 66 today, but that score was totally eclipsed by a sensational round from Hans Kunok. Hans rediscovered the form that won him the Winter Trophy earlier in the season, and the result was a stunning 59, the Holy Grail of golf scores, which transformed him into the new tournament leader by four strokes from Bob. But I think there may well be a few more surprises in store...

Round 3 - Overnight leader Hans Kunok is still out on the course attempting to consolidate his position, so things could likely change. As it is, Ian McKinley revelled in the dry, windy weather to shoot the best score of the round so far, a splendid 66, which although propelled him up the leaderboard, still leaves him way behind the frontrunners. A level par 72 from Bob Fletcher saw him slip to third place, four strokes behind Randy Grant whose 70 today keeps him very much in contention. Late starter Mark Lipping added to previous rounds of 63 and 70 with a fine 67 to lead by a single shot. So going into the final day it looks like any one of three or four guests could still win this tournament...

Round 4 - The windy conditions and sluggish greens seemed to cause a lot of consternation today. Ian McKinley finished an unmemorable week with a 71 which saw him end the tourney with a share of 22nd place. Bob Fletcher's putting woes continued but at least his 70 was good enough to grab 3rd spot. Hans Kunok was looking in good shape with five holes left of his third round but, inexplicably, he failed to complete 18 holes and unfortunately was disqualified. Overnight leader Mark Lipping shot his worst round of the week, a 71, which left the door open for his main competitor, Randy Grant. Randy's game has improved no end over recent weeks and he took full advantage to card a closing 68, a score that provided him with his maiden victory by two strokes!

Next week we are in New Jersey and Ballyowen Golf Club for the Dow Jones Open Invitational, where the largest purse of the season will be on offer - but you will need to bring your best putting game because there are some challenging greens to take on there...
