Round 2 - Strong winds and rain were the order of the day, but at least that should have made putting less traumatic. Bob Fletcher improved on his first round by shooting a level par 70, a score that moved him closer to the higher regions of the leaderboard. In a tie for 13th, one shot ahead of Bob, was Barney Buss after his frustrating 73, but both players are not completely out of contention just yet. Hans Kunok found himself in a share of 5th spot, just four strokes off the leader, when he carded a less than impressive 72 but he, too, is still in the mix. At halfway there are only two players under par - Mark Lipping who fired a fantastic 66 today to make an early move and, a single shot in front of Mark, Ian McKinley who became the only player to shoot under par in both opening rounds by registering a fine 69. At the time of writing there is no news of Day 1 leader Roger Instell, so his score could change the whole picture...

Round 4 - The final day conditions were nothing short of brutal, the worst they could possibly be probably. Roger Instell's 77 was, unsurprisingly, his worst score of the week, and left him in a lowly tie for 52nd place. At least he had the small consolation of registering the best round of the opening day. After the front nine Bob Fletcher looked to be heading for his worst round of the season, but he rallied well on the back to post his third 74 of the event, a score that earned him a share of 34th spot. Hans Kunok also carded a 77, finally succumbing to this tough course, but generally did well to finish tied 20th. Ian McKinley, already a Major winner this season, started today five strokes off the lead - and his up and down 75 left him six shots behind the eventual winner. Overnight leader Mark Lipping had excelled in the previous two rounds and must have been feeling confident about grabbing his first Major title - but it wasn't to be. Everything seemed to conspire against him and his closing 75 meant he finished a single stroke short of the eventual victor. And that was PGA pro Dave Stockton, whose battling 73 gave him the title and left him as the only player to break par in the event - that's how tough it was at Cedar Ridge!! We move on to the TPC Boston for the AVCO Classic where scoring will hopefully be a little easier!!
