Earnings after the WESTCHESTER CLASSIC

This was the final event of the 'Summer Bowl' series of tournaments. Bob Fletcher has topped the earnings for the last few weeks but, as the Westchester Classic event offered the largest purse of the season so far, it was quite possible that a different player would emerge as the Summer Bowl winner! Olly Jose-Maria looked a hot favourite to be that player, going into the final round with a 5-stroke lead, but it wasn't to be. Bob owes a debt of gratitude to Barney Buss for overhauling Olly's lead to snatch the $50,000 first prize away from Olly. That meant that Bob's comparatively paltry earnings from this tourney, $1,325, was enough to keep him ahead of everyone else and capture the Summer Bowl trophy by the small margin of $657!!

The last 13 events of the season, beginning with the American Golf Classic at Firestone Country Club, constitute the 'Autumn Cup' - so who will win that trophy?!
