Round 3 - The windiest conditions possible greeted the players on the first tee today, which suggested that scoring would be difficult. Subsequently, our guests revelled in the wind, everyone of them going under par. Ian McKinley's 66, his first sub-par round in this event, promoted him into a tie for 12th spot, while Nate Arteezy's 68 would see him finish in 4th place, just two shots off the lead. Halfway point pacesetter Charlie Roberts registered a 70, a score that dropped him to 3rd spot, a single stroke behind the new joint leaders. Bob Fletcher's unexpected (his own word) 66 put him back on top in a share of the lead with Mark Lipping, who produced the round of the week, an incredible 60, and it could be that Mark has finally found his best form just in time for the third Major of the season next week. Now anything can happen on the final day...

Round 4 - This was always going to be an exciting finale to this tourney, with so many players capable of winning. Conditions were not the most difficult so attacking play was very possible, even with some tricky pins. Ian McKinley has been struggling with his health for a long time and he did well to finish the event, carding a 74 today to finish tied 18th, a very creditable performance. Charlie Roberts led after the first half of the tourney, but suffered a disappointing second half, finishing with two rounds of 70, but still good enough to claim 4th place. Nate Arteezy concluded the event with a 68, a repeat of his third round score, to earn 3rd spot one stroke ahead of Charlie, his best finish of the season. Bob Fletcher looked to have a good round going but had a disastrous 6th hole, taking a triple and never recovering, finally coming in with a 69. That was enough to finish second, one shot clear of Nate and four behind the eventual winner. That was Mark Lipping who signed off with the best round of the day, an excellent 65. Let's hope we have another close finish this week in the US OPEN at Hazeltine National...
