Round 4 - the main talking point has to be the bone-hard greens and putting. It wasn't uncommon to see putts rolling off the green to leave a 30 or 40 yard shot back to the pin and, because of that, Peachtree has been black-listed for future tour play. End of. The four heroic guests who completed four torturous rounds will be glad their suffering is at an end, but not before one final dose of excrutiating pain on this final day. Mark Lipping and Ian McKinley both carded a 91, meaning they were tied for last place having scored the same as each other in every single round. Late starter Carl Bishop an 84 today to finish 77th, 7 shots clear of Mark and Ian. Bob Fletcher managed a nearly creditable 80 to end the week in 76th spot, a further 9 strokes clear of Carl. The tourney was won by Tommy Aaron, ending 10 years of winless frustration. Tommy began the final round 2 strokes behind leader Tom Weiskopf, and got off to a fast start, but on the 14th hole Aaron called a 2-stroke penalty on himself for moving his ball illegally. He recalls: "It was quite a shock when I realized I had moved the ball in an area where it wasn't allowed. I knew I had just donated two strokes to the field." However, he ended up setting a new scoring record for the event and taking home the winner's cheque.
