Round 4Roger Instell had previously only completed one event this season, the Greater Jacksonville Open, where he finished tied 74th. This week he won at a canter, with 7 strokes seperating him from 2nd-placed Mark Lipping. Roger started the week well with a 67, but his victory was really down to his middle two rounds - a great 64 inRound 2 and an even better 63, the best of the tourney, in Round 3. He concluded proceedings with a solid 68 to pocket the winner's cheque. Mark, although shooting under par in every round, wasn't quite at his best but still had a decent pay-day. Ian McKinley finished 2 shots behind Mark and he, too, had four under-par rounds to his credit. Any winning hopes Bob Fletcher may have had disappeared when he slumped to a 75 in the penultimate round, but an even par 70 today was enough to earn a share of 11th.
