THIS EVENT IS A STABLEFORD EVENT. YOU MUST POST A SCREENSHOT OF YOUR SCORECARD FOR EACH ROUND TO ENABLE ME TO CALCULATE YOUR STABLEFORD POINTS TOTAL.
FAILURE TO DO THIS WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.

Typically - with stableford and I have played many in real life, you try to keep a clean card, being aggressive can really cost you - I am not sure how BOB is scoring this tournament but here is a typical Stableford scoring system When doing these as club cap - this how they would typically look

Looking at the original leaderboard, I suspect they used the 'MODIFIED (INTERNATIONAL) STABLEFORD' scoring system:
8 - Double Eagle 5 - Eagle 2 - Birdie 0 - Par -1 - Bogey -3 - Double Bogey or Worse.
This is the system I will be using this week.
Confirmation: "The International was the only tournament to use the Modified Stableford scoring system"
Makes perfect sense BOB purely your call on this one. Just makes no sense to play conservative tho there is no reward - oh well onward

Round 1 - Really pleased with my game plan and especially my ball striking. Found all the fairways except on #18, where I found a terrible sidehill lie and went through the green with my approach. The chip got away from me and a bogey followed. Putted pretty well but my approach play was a lot better than usual, hence the 7 birdies. A good start to the week for a change, 11 points...

lost interest when it went to modified sorry - that's just me - Rd 2 - saved card some where - I will find it later when i get home from hospital - had a mild relapse last night - got bored and played 8 birdies - 4 bogys and a triple should = 0

Ian, it's pointless playing a different system to the one they used in 2000, especially when it awards a lot more points than the original.
You scored zero points in Round 2? I think you have miscalculated!!
8 birdies = 16 4 bogeys = -4 1 triple = -3
Total score = 9
Just saw that you shot a level par 72 in Round 2, so your figures don't work out. Looking forward to seeing your scorecard...

Round 2 - Couldn't find the pace of the greens at all and suffered early on with a double-bogey. My general play was nowhere near as good as the first round, and in the end I'm content with a score of minus 1. I was very unlucky not to hole a sand-chip and another greenside chip, but it just wasn't my day. Loving the course though...

R1, a fairly pedestrian round. I played well enough, but the course does not seem very well suited to this format; the par 5s are too long to reach in 2. Not many risk/reward decisions built into this layout. It seems to encourage conservative play and course management; and nothing wrong with that, I like the course, but it's better suited for medal play where the goal is to play for pars and take advantage of the few birdie opportunities that present themselves. In my opinion. EDIT: In PP golf, the altitude makes a difference in distance for each club. I have not checked but it does not appear that altitude has any effect on distance in TGC 2019 but, like I say, I have not checked so I could be wrong. I did not notice any distance gain on my shots in R1. I played Castle Pines many years ago IRL. It sits over a mile high (6,700 feet). At that time I typically hit my 5 iron around 175 yards. I was hitting it well over 200 yds at Castle Pines. My wedge distance was normally 110-115 yards, and I was hitting it around 140. As I recall, the first hole I played was around 450 yards and I hit driver, wedge to the green. So the pros have a bit of an advantage over us this week (assuming I am correct about there being no distance adjustments for altitude in TGC 2019); not a complaint, just an observation that the course probably presents more risk/reward opportunities IRL than in the game.

Ian, you scored 8 points in Round 2, making a total of 14 for the first two rounds putting you in a tie for 21st.
Any particular reason why you no longer enjoy this game mate? Or maybe just going through a rough patch, which would be very understandable...
