Round 1. Tough test of your game this course, some of the pins were really tight and one or two real nasty, struggled with putting on some holes hence the three snots, but made up for it on others holing some testing putts for saves. The greens might get tricky if they get faster. Onwards.  |

Round 1 - Another round of mixed emotions, but I really enjoyed the round and the course. Played the first 3 holes very well, but only took one of three birdie chances. Disaster struck on #4 when my tee landed just short of the land, and a triple ensued. Loose putting saw two more shots dropped on #5, but after the turn I had a run of 4 birds, including one when I dropped a 36-footer, that maybe should have been 5. Two late bogeys through bad putting (again) knocked me back a bit but if I can improve my putting I'll be scoring a lot better - IF...

Round 1
Brought the Master Clubs along today..... A tad shaky at first. I liked them ! (for now)

Round 2 - Very disappointed with my score as these were extremely favourable conditions. I'd played well all day on other society rounds and was cautiously optimistic. Birdied the 1st and pulled off another unlikely bird on the 3rd after a Houdini-like punched approach. Annoyingly I then found water again on the 4th but holed a good putt to restrict the damage to one stroke. Completely cocked up the 8th and couldn't drop a putt until the 14th where I sank a 42-footer. On #15 I had to hole a 27-footer to save par, left a par putt on the lip on #17, then went for it on #18 and holed a 20-footer for birdie and a gross level par round. For the first time ever, my putter was my salvation - I'm still in shock...

Round 3 Started well then got careless on 8 and 9 so left game and went back to it 2 days late, pleased i did as had a much better back 9. Onwards.  |

Round 3 - Strange one this. Yesterday and most of today I'd been getting 'very fast' swings, spoiling every round, so before I started this round I decided to go on the range and sort out my timing. I hit about 20 shots with various clubs - not one 'very fast' swing. And I don't think I had one 'very fast' swing during my round either. After a poorly played 1st hole and a putting disaster on the 2nd it looked like another crap round - but I knuckled down, grabbed a few pars and even a couple of birdies, the one on the 9th courtesy of sinking a 28-footer. More solid pars and a couple more birds and I was under par, job done and a happy hacker again...

Round 4
After a practice at the driving range I forgot to switch back to the master clubs...... Maybe it was a good thing !
Bad putt on 17 otherwise a good round for me. Happy !

Round 4. ABSOLUTE shit show with the putter on this round, i know i had 9 chirpers but the amount of short putts missed was unreal, thats golf i suppose so onwards to next week.  |
